Services › Steam Shower Enclosures
Steam is unforgiving of gaps. We build the enclosure to hold it.
A steam shower only works if the enclosure holds the steam. That means glass to the ceiling, a sealed door with a drop-down sweep, sealed penetrations, and a transom or vent that lets you control when the steam leaves. Most failed steam installs we get called out to are ordinary shower enclosures with a steam generator bolted on. The steam escapes at the top and the room never gets hot.
The other half of the job is the room behind the glass. Steam drives moisture into every gap, so waterproofing, a sloped ceiling to shed condensate, and a properly sized drain matter as much as the glass. We build the enclosure, and we will tell you plainly if the prep behind it is not ready for steam.
Four details decide whether steam actually builds.
Glass runs to the ceiling with a framed or frameless transom above the door. The transom opens to vent, and closes to hold steam.
A drop-down sweep, magnetic or vinyl meeting seal, and a sealed jamb. Gaps at the hinge side are the usual culprit for a cold steam room.
Ceiling slope sheds condensate away from the door, and the drain has to handle the extra volume. We flag it if the drain looks undersized.
A sealed box needs to dry out. We recommend a timer on the exhaust fan so the room dries between uses.
| Configuration | Typical Range |
|---|---|
| Full-height frameless with transom | $4,200 - $7,800 |
| Semi-framed steam enclosure | $3,200 - $5,600 |
| Door and panel retrofit to existing steam room | $2,600 - $4,800 |
| Seal and sweep rebuild | $220 - $480 |
Generator, tile, waterproofing, and electrical are separate trades. Our scope is the glass and hardware.
We template, cut, and hang the glass ourselves. No subcontracted crew, no finger-pointing when a hinge line is off by an eighth of an inch.
You get the panel sizes, glass thickness, hardware finish, and total price in writing. Nothing on the invoice that was not in the quote.
Coastal humidity, hard water, and older tract-home framing all change what we specify. We pick glass and coatings that survive here.
Drop cloths down, old glass out in one piece, silicone lines wiped, and the debris leaves with us.
We check ceiling height, slope, drain size, and where the generator sits before quoting glass.
Door swing, transom size, and vent location get decided so the room is usable, not just sealed.
Off finished tile, with the ceiling measured too, since a low ceiling changes the transom height.
Enclosure goes in, seals are set, and we run the generator to find leaks before we call it done.
Curved, angled, half-wall, and full-height glass built to the opening you actually have.
Heavy 3/8 and 1/2 inch frameless glass, templated on site and installed with hardware that actually lines up.
Cracked, chipped, etched, or fogged glass swapped for new tempered panels using your existing hardware.
Bring us in before tile if you can. It saves a rebuild.
