Frameless Glass That Looks Like It Grew There

A frameless door is the least forgiving thing you can put in a bathroom. There is no metal channel to hide a wall that is out of plumb or a curb that runs downhill. We measure every opening in person, check the studs behind the tile, and cut the glass to the wall we actually found, not the one on the drawing.

Most San Diego homes we work in were built between 1965 and 2005, and plenty of those showers have a back wall that leans a quarter inch over four feet. We shim the hinges and set the strike jamb so the door closes with one finger and the gap stays even top to bottom. That is the difference between a frameless install that still looks right in ten years and one that starts swinging open on its own.

What Goes Into Your Frameless Install

Three decisions drive the look and the price. We walk through all of them before anything is ordered.

Glass thickness and treatment

3/8 inch for most fixed panels, 1/2 inch for doors and anything wider than 30 inches. We recommend an EnduroShield-style coating on every install, because San Diego water is hard enough to etch uncoated glass inside two years.

Hardware finish

Chrome, brushed nickel, matte black, oil-rubbed bronze, and brass. We stock the common finishes; brass and specialty powder coats add a week to lead time.

Hinge and panel layout

Wall-mount or glass-mount hinges, inline or neo-angle panels, and a swing direction that clears your towel bar, vanity drawer, and shower head. We mark it on the wall in tape so you can stand in the shower and check it.

Why Choose Us for Frameless Shower Door Installation?

Glass handled by people who install it

We template, cut, and hang the glass ourselves. No subcontracted crew, no finger-pointing when a hinge line is off by an eighth of an inch.

Written quotes before work starts

You get the panel sizes, glass thickness, hardware finish, and total price in writing. Nothing on the invoice that was not in the quote.

Built for San Diego bathrooms

Coastal humidity, hard water, and older tract-home framing all change what we specify. We pick glass and coatings that survive here.

Clean, tight job sites

Drop cloths down, old glass out in one piece, silicone lines wiped, and the debris leaves with us.

How the Install Goes

1. Photo or site visit

Text us pictures of the opening with a tape measure against it. We can usually quote from photos, and confirm on site before ordering glass.

2. Template and order

We measure at the studs, write the sizes down, and order glass cut to those numbers. Lead time is typically 7 to 12 business days.

3. Tear out and prep

Old doors and frames come out, the curb gets checked, and any soft backer or loose tile is flagged before new hardware goes on.

4. Hang, seal, clean

Panels go up, doors get adjusted so they close on their own weight, and the silicone gets tooled clean. We show you the care routine before we leave.
