Services › Shower Door Glass Replacement
Send a photo of the damage and the hardware; most panels can be matched.
Glass fails in three ways: it gets hit, it gets etched, or it gets chipped at an edge and lets go. A chip or crack in tempered glass means the panel has to be replaced, and it has to come out before it decides to come apart on its own. Etched glass from years of hard water and the wrong cleaner is a cosmetic failure, but no amount of polishing brings it back once the surface is scarred.
If the frame, hinges, and rollers are still good, we can usually cut a single panel to match the original and reuse your hardware. That saves the cost of a full door and lets us keep the existing finish. We measure off the current glass and note the edgework, because a polished edge and a flat-polished edge look different next to the panel that is staying.
Matching an existing panel is a measurement job, not a guess.
Clear, low-iron, bronze, gray, and reeded or frosted patterns. Low-iron is worth it if the panel sits next to bright tile, since standard clear reads green at the edge.
Polished, flat-polished, or beveled edges, plus hinge notches and handle holes drilled to the original pattern.
Any edge chip or star crack in tempered glass is a replacement. There is no safe repair, and tape over a crack is not a fix.
| Panel | Typical Range |
|---|---|
| Fixed frameless panel, 3/8 inch | $350 - $750 |
| Frameless door panel, 3/8 to 1/2 inch | $500 - $1,100 |
| Sliding door glass with frame | $280 - $650 |
| Patterned or tinted glass | +15% - 30% |
Hardware reuse is included when the existing hardware is sound. If a hinge is bent or a roller is shot, we quote the part too.
We template, cut, and hang the glass ourselves. No subcontracted crew, no finger-pointing when a hinge line is off by an eighth of an inch.
You get the panel sizes, glass thickness, hardware finish, and total price in writing. Nothing on the invoice that was not in the quote.
Coastal humidity, hard water, and older tract-home framing all change what we specify. We pick glass and coatings that survive here.
Drop cloths down, old glass out in one piece, silicone lines wiped, and the debris leaves with us.
We check hinges, channels, and the curb so the new panel does not fail the same way.
Thickness, width, height, hole pattern, and edge profile get recorded before anything is ordered.
Cut, edge, drill, then temper. Typical turnaround is 7 to 12 business days.
Old panel out in one piece where possible, new panel in, hardware re-torqued, seals renewed.
Leaking doors, sagging hinges, broken rollers, and glass that jumps the track. Usually fixed in one visit.
Heavy 3/8 and 1/2 inch frameless glass, templated on site and installed with hardware that actually lines up.
Curved, angled, half-wall, and full-height glass built to the opening you actually have.
A single panel replacement costs far less than a new enclosure.
